This past week two of the girls from work, Pendo and Janeth helped me to buy all the things I needed for the house. I had to buy almost everything except furniture. I am so greatfull to them for helping me as they took a lot of stress from me. I didn't have to worry about finding stores that have what I need and then negotiating. I am quite sure they saved me a lot of money too.
So here are some pics of my new digs!

Wow!! That's crazy that your house comes with its own guard!! But I bet you are very happy to have your own place; I'm happy for you :) It looks nice! Do many of the houses in town look like this, or is this a more westernized home?
ReplyDeleteIt is common for expats to have a guard (safer) and I will also have a house-girl come one day a week to do laundry and cleaning. My house is quite nice. This is somewhat more westernized and there are lots of homes here like this (bigger and smaller) but more expensive. Sometimes 2 families will live in a house this size to share the cost. Most local people live in mud (homemade) brick houses with plain tin rooves, may or may not have running water or power. I will have to take some photos and post them.
ReplyDeleteIt looks pretty nice! You must be so happy to have a place of your own! Will you always be on your own, or will you have to get room mates?
